Great food brings people together, but shared laughter creates genuine connection. Table by KO is a private, Birmingham-based community built around good food and thoughtful people. Their motto, "Come for the food. Stay for the connection," aligned perfectly with our mission when they hosted their Saturday networking event on June 13, 2026. The organisers wanted an engaging way to break the ice and encourage interaction among a diverse group of attendees, which included founders like Vanessa from VDL Designs. That is where Neegma stepped in to provide a seamless, interactive gaming experience that elevated the entire event.

Breaking the Ice with Song Association
After a quick introduction by the host, guests grabbed their food and divided into four groups: the Jolly Team, Team Thanos, Team 3, and the Strike Team. To get started, team leads simply scanned a QR code from the host's phone to join the live Neegma session. There were no apps to download, and everyone was ready to play in seconds. If you want to see exactly how quick that setup is, we walk through it in How to create a session.
The first activity of the day was Song Association. In this fast-paced game, players receive a word and must quickly sing a song containing it. We went around the room from team to team. If a group failed to sing a valid song, the turn passed, and bonus points were up for grabs.
One of the things that made this round land so well is that Song Association is fully customisable. Neegma automatically supplies fun word prompts, but hosts can also swap in their own words straight from the Neegma Playground. That means the same game can be tuned for a wedding, a work offsite, or a community lunch like this one, without changing anything about how it plays.
The live energy was incredible, fuelled by our consensus scoring system. Because everyone was interacting in the same room, the crowd instantly agreed on whether a song was correct or not, and the host logged the results directly into the platform. With words like "laughter," "ice cream," "try," and "cry," the room quickly filled with singing and friendly debate. After four exciting rounds, Team Thanos secured the win by strategically accumulating bonus points.
Song Association is one of the easiest ways to get a shy room loud. Nobody has to be a good singer. They just have to be brave for ten seconds, and the whole room is laughing with them by the second turn.
Keeping the Connection Alive
Following the high energy of the first game, guests took a break to enjoy more food and continue networking. The initial icebreaker had done its job perfectly. People were relaxed, chatting freely, and even approaching the host to ask what the next game would be.
One of the best technical advantages of using Neegma for live events is session stability. Even as guests moved out to the terrace and refreshed their browsers, their devices remained securely connected to the same session. When a player uses the same name, Neegma carries their progress forward automatically, so a refresh or a walk outside never costs anyone their place. By the time the second round started, everyone was already in their groups and ready to go without any friction.
Uncovering Secrets in Find the Mole
Once everyone gathered on the terrace, we introduced the second game: Find the Mole. This deduction game gives all but one team a secret category word, such as "yellow" for colours. The team without the word is the mole. Each group must announce a related word to prove they know the secret, without making it so obvious that the mole can blend in.
This sparked hilarious discussion and intense deduction as teams voted on who they thought was hiding their identity. The Jolly Team excelled, racking up 6,000 points by expertly catching the mole and successfully pretending to be the mole themselves. Meanwhile, Team 3 struggled hilariously, getting voted out repeatedly, which only added to the laughter and enjoyment of the crowd.
What makes Find the Mole such a strong fit for networking events is that it forces conversation. To survive a round, people who met five minutes ago have to read each other, bluff, and defend themselves out loud. That is exactly the kind of interaction a room of strangers needs to warm up.

A Night of Lasting Memories
By the time the games concluded, the atmosphere had completely transformed. The guests had built a solid foundation of connection, making it easy to spend the rest of the evening dancing and enjoying the music together. Neegma successfully bridged the gap between a standard networking lunch and a truly memorable social experience.
